Beautiful Bath
I take it back, Bath still remains my favourite place. Few posts ago I said that after falling in love with Cambridge it has become my favourite city, displacing Bath in the process. However, as I had a week off, Reg and I agreed to visit Bath again. The place has a brief but happy associated memories, so it wasn't hard to decide. So off we went.It was a three hour drive from us but it was a journey we were looking forward to. Him for the rest that awaits, and me the anticipation of whether the magic still exist. Will I still like it? Is the place really as pretty as I remember? Am I in for a disappointment? I was eager to find out. We stayed on the same place as last time (we are big on nostalgia like that). But stopped on doing the same things as before. This time we decided to just "wing it", it was a break after all.
Then we arrived.
Bath is the prettiest of them all. Is and was. Few seconds in and I was immediately reminded of why and how I fell in love with it. It didn't change for me. I was transported back to three years ago. Same feeling, same vibe, same awe. I fell in love all over again. But this time without the magic covering my eyes. I loved the city for what it is. Its flaws and imperfections were accepted as if it only complements its beauty. I love it to pieces. I really wished I could capture the beauty of the place, but alas my skills were not at par, these photos were graciously taken by Reg and credits to him. WE can only offer glimpses.
Usually when we go out of town, after a day or two we would miss the hustle and bustle of the city. But not this time. We were for a fact sad to leave the place behind. We had to console ourselves with a plan to come back in the near future. It got us through. As we entered A406 to get home, we found ourselves looking forward to the next time we come back. And it is soon.
This will ensure that the city will be preserved. Always.
The Bath Abbey is just as majestic as it is beautiful.
The Roman Bath is, well, the reason why the place got it's name. These hot springs were used by Romans when they invaded England. It is one of the two famous Roman remains in the country, one of which is Hadrian's wall. The water temperature are at a constant 50 degrees Celsius. A must see on anybody's list.

The city is pretty during the day, but she is beautiful in the night.
The Pump room
One of Baths main attraction. If you want pampering then this place is a must go. The rooftop pool that overlooks the city is a nice cap to a day. Not missing the 5 steam rooms and indoor pool to boot. To dine in a restaurant where everybody is wearing a bath robe is a must experience for anyone. And of course it only follows that no pictures can be taken. http://www.thermaebathspa.com/
The Royal Crescent. A row of 30 terraced houses. All but one has a white door. Thus, the famous Yellow Door came to light.
The IronArt.
I am stopping here for I think I sounded like a gushing girl talking about her supposed first love. Yet, as far as cities are concerned I might just be.
