3 Favourites: January

3 Favourites: January

January have been so fast and hectic that I barely notice that its nearly ending. These are the three things I have been loving this month.

1. Muji Diary

I have mentioned in one of my previous entry how much I love diaries or organizers or whatever you call it. I just find it comforting and re assuring seeing everything written down. And every year the hunt is always gratifying. For the third year running I came back to Muji. I wanted a monthly AND weekly view, minimalist in designed and streamlined layout. It has smooth and a grid pages to boot. This is the Muji A5 2016.

2. Taggies Comforter

I said things "I've been loving" but actually it is my little one who can't get enough of this, hence I by association. At the moment she is in a stage where everything she touches she tries to put into her mouth and this blankie, a total life saver, is just great for that. She loves it so much that it has to come with us everywhere. Its colourful, soft, cuddly and best of all the different fabric and materials for the tags are just perfect for soothing and keeping her interested. Shout out to Sassy Bloom as we got this from our trial box.

3. Clinique Lipstick

Lipsticks are my guilty obsession. This Christmas gift set is just spot on. The packaging looks pretty and the colours are wearable. It doesn't stays long on me though, but nonetheless I am having fun using it.

Third Wheel

Third Wheel

A couple of days ago, Reg and I were able to book a table for a date. Usually it's not really a big deal, however now that we have little one, it takes a lot to do something as easy as a date. That is of course if you want a smooth time without a crying baby belting out beside you while you're having your meal. Otherwise, just dash and go. As we don't have family here to help us look after the baby, and we are not yet comfortable in leaving her with a child minder its obvious that she goes with us everywhere we go.

So yeah, we were able to find a day where Reg was off work. Booked a table in the most convenient time. Meaning, enough time to fix ourselves with more than 5 minutes to spare, prepare baby things, make sure she had a nap and most of all she is well fed before we even step out the door. Phew!

But we did! After five months we get to have a "date".

It turns out little one just love eating out as much as we do, that she decided to join the fun too. She got herself some food too. Rather demanded to have food too. Hence, we have our very own third wheel. I guess this is how its gonna be for the next few future dates.

Throwback 2015

Throwback 2015

And there goes the first two weeks of 2016.  Christmas has been and gone. Long gone. Stockings and baubles were now packed and started collecting dust. Such was the casualty of time. It just goes so fast. 2015 more than any year made me sad of how fast it goes. I’m usually a glass-half-full kind of person but man, wish it’d slowed up. And with it Olivia’s growing up.

We kicked off the year in high spirits as we found out I was pregnant just before Christmas day. So we sure welcomed the new year in full swing. Dry January it may have been it was a month of wonder and the hype from the news hasn’t slowed down yet. However, Jona and Amelia left for home. It was the end of an era. Them and ours. February we went to Barcelona for a promise that we made. It was such a nice break, being our last trip just the two of us. And the best part of the month, we get to hear the heartbeat for the very first time. March has been quite tricky as I had to cope with severe n/v but, hey no pain no gain. April has been fun, we started getting stuff for little one. Yes were that kind of parents. First timers you see. We just had to, because this was when we learnt that were having a baby girl.

May was hectic at work however saying that it has been actually hectic the last few months. I had a surprise baby shower by the Stockwell gang. Again nice memories in Bishop Stortford. June has been full of dates. In a way I think we were rushing to have as many couples date as we can, while we still can! Surely, it’ll be sometime before we can again have a quiet, spontaneous and relaxing dinner just us two once the peanut  arrives.  Anniversary date was the  highlight of course. July was pretty much a blur, it was my last two weeks at work, at 9 months and counting, so handing over was crazy. It wasn’t as smooth as I would like but hey, my doctors love me that’s all that matters. For the last two weeks the countdown began.

August was the most awaited month. Everything was falling into place. I was at my heaviest and biggest, at the same time the healthiest I’ve ever been. I would literally have power walk every day. And then the most awaited time arrive. She arrived with a flair. No words can express how it came to be, but the closest would be magic. I was at bliss. My love tank was bursting. Nothing else mattered the pain, mess, pain, blood,  pain,  tiredness, pain, emotions, pain, tears, laughter and did I mention pain?.. Anyway, it was the best moment of my life.

September rolled on and we were still high from last month’s events. With so many things to sort out (GP, Register, Health Visits etc) it was pretty busy. It was also overwhelming. While I was at the peak of my bf struggles we found out that little one has tongue tie and needed a corrective procedure. Sure enough it was nothing major, but for first timers it was a world  shaker. Thank God, little one was a champ!

October was actually fun, Ana came to visit. Shame that when she was here little one wasn’t  quite up to long trips yet, in fairness however she was barely two months old.  But saying that we weren’t able to show her around town as much as we would have liked. That's our regret. But she was such a trooper, that’s why were friends. She saw me on my rawest moment as a mom (namely trying to figure most things out). Maybe that's why she came at that time,; our conversations truly helped me kept my sanity.

At the start of November  we saw Tin, Von and Caleb albeit short. This month was the turning point. I was easing into the new role easily by then.  Things just became natural and relaxed. I started to believe that we could actually do this by ourselves. Then came December; the best month ever. I have said this before, Christmas was a thousand times better now that we have little one to celebrate it with. It was a time to make new tradition and actually have more than enough reason to celebrate. I couldn’t possibly think of any other reason to top this year, unless of course I’ll have another baby, but surely 2015 was my best one yet.

So bring on 2016..

My Top Ten Persons of 2015

My Top Ten Persons of 2015

2015 has been a great year for me. Full of surprises and new beginnings. Here are the persons who made the year amazing.

1. Reg

No words will ever be enough to describe how you did. I am blessed to be one of the lucky ones who get to meet their soulmates, let alone marry them. I would never have made it through the year without you. And if there is such thing as forever I would fight everyday to get to it.

2. Olivia Belle

It's true what they say, "You complete us." You are our answered gift. The happiness you bring is not just to us. If you only knew how much our world rejoiced when you came. I love you so much that my heart feels like it would burst. You do know since you heard it beat for you from inside. Daddy and Mommy loves you so much, Baby.

3. Doods Samson

This year you proved how great you are as a grandfather as you were a father. I was reminded of that. My heart swells in knowing that your love for Iya is above everything else. Just shows that no matter what I love you still.

4. Ana Lee

Your visit has been one of the highlights of my year. Our candle light conversations was one of the most candid and refreshing I've had in years. Having you here reminded me how it is to be just myself and not care how others will say. I am amazed by your strength and perseverance, while keeping the kid inside you fun and ready to have fun. Bring out vlogs and cartoons, Partner.

5. Marvic Latak

You made the journey to motherhood fun and easier. Having somebody experience it with you at the same time is such a reassuring and comforting thought. Surely having someone to talk to in the middle of night feeds and nappy changes takes the edge off it. But most of all it's just nice to have someone, whom you could fully share the moments with, whom you know will cheer and cry for you at the same time. You and Kamil, me and Iya for always.

6. Nick Clifford

Working with you has been surprisingly fun and easy. A perfect gentleman as far as I could tell. You have all the making of becoming great in your field. And you were supportive in times when I needed it the most. It meant a lot, for that thank you. It was a pleasure working with you.

7. Roda Joahill

For being one of my support group, thank you so much. For being available even in odd hours just to accommodate my cluelessness. For showing me how one can be chilled even in the midst of things. You made family first very easy.

8. Chetna Kevat

Your help has been tremendous. I made it through 9 months of work because you were with me and supporting me every step of the way. I truly appreciate everything. I hope you enjoy learning as much as I enjoyed teaching you.

9. Olga Keryao

Your gentleness is admirable. It does highlight the quite strength inside you when you needed to be strong. Thank you for always there and ready to shell out tips on how to make things easier.

10. Anjanna Limbu

I couldn't find a photo of you but I could not not post this photo of little Nat. Why, he is one of my little one's batch mate. It was fun coming to the theater with you there. With our sharing of notes regarding our weekly progression it was surely good times in that cold operating room.
