Throwback 2015

And there goes the first two weeks of 2016.  Christmas has been and gone. Long gone. Stockings and baubles were now packed and started collecting dust. Such was the casualty of time. It just goes so fast. 2015 more than any year made me sad of how fast it goes. I’m usually a glass-half-full kind of person but man, wish it’d slowed up. And with it Olivia’s growing up.

We kicked off the year in high spirits as we found out I was pregnant just before Christmas day. So we sure welcomed the new year in full swing. Dry January it may have been it was a month of wonder and the hype from the news hasn’t slowed down yet. However, Jona and Amelia left for home. It was the end of an era. Them and ours. February we went to Barcelona for a promise that we made. It was such a nice break, being our last trip just the two of us. And the best part of the month, we get to hear the heartbeat for the very first time. March has been quite tricky as I had to cope with severe n/v but, hey no pain no gain. April has been fun, we started getting stuff for little one. Yes were that kind of parents. First timers you see. We just had to, because this was when we learnt that were having a baby girl.

May was hectic at work however saying that it has been actually hectic the last few months. I had a surprise baby shower by the Stockwell gang. Again nice memories in Bishop Stortford. June has been full of dates. In a way I think we were rushing to have as many couples date as we can, while we still can! Surely, it’ll be sometime before we can again have a quiet, spontaneous and relaxing dinner just us two once the peanut  arrives.  Anniversary date was the  highlight of course. July was pretty much a blur, it was my last two weeks at work, at 9 months and counting, so handing over was crazy. It wasn’t as smooth as I would like but hey, my doctors love me that’s all that matters. For the last two weeks the countdown began.

August was the most awaited month. Everything was falling into place. I was at my heaviest and biggest, at the same time the healthiest I’ve ever been. I would literally have power walk every day. And then the most awaited time arrive. She arrived with a flair. No words can express how it came to be, but the closest would be magic. I was at bliss. My love tank was bursting. Nothing else mattered the pain, mess, pain, blood,  pain,  tiredness, pain, emotions, pain, tears, laughter and did I mention pain?.. Anyway, it was the best moment of my life.

September rolled on and we were still high from last month’s events. With so many things to sort out (GP, Register, Health Visits etc) it was pretty busy. It was also overwhelming. While I was at the peak of my bf struggles we found out that little one has tongue tie and needed a corrective procedure. Sure enough it was nothing major, but for first timers it was a world  shaker. Thank God, little one was a champ!

October was actually fun, Ana came to visit. Shame that when she was here little one wasn’t  quite up to long trips yet, in fairness however she was barely two months old.  But saying that we weren’t able to show her around town as much as we would have liked. That's our regret. But she was such a trooper, that’s why were friends. She saw me on my rawest moment as a mom (namely trying to figure most things out). Maybe that's why she came at that time,; our conversations truly helped me kept my sanity.

At the start of November  we saw Tin, Von and Caleb albeit short. This month was the turning point. I was easing into the new role easily by then.  Things just became natural and relaxed. I started to believe that we could actually do this by ourselves. Then came December; the best month ever. I have said this before, Christmas was a thousand times better now that we have little one to celebrate it with. It was a time to make new tradition and actually have more than enough reason to celebrate. I couldn’t possibly think of any other reason to top this year, unless of course I’ll have another baby, but surely 2015 was my best one yet.

So bring on 2016..
